A unique feature of the instrument is that the sorting process takes place exclusively within a single-use, disposable, and fully closed system: the TYTO cartridge. The closed TYTO cartridge provides full operator safety and eliminates the risk of sample contamination and carry-over. This does, however, limit the machine to sorting one positive population per cartridge along with the negative fraction. The easy "plug and play" format of the instrument, combined with fully automated flow control, laser alignment, and valve timing, makes cell sorting efficient and cost-effective.
The Miltenyi MACSQuant TYTO Cell Sorter is a next-generation, low pressure benchtop cell sorter equipped with ten channels and three lasers (405 nm violet, 488 nm blue and 640 nm red), which allows for accurate, delicate, high-speed cell sorting.
