The Sony MA900 is controlled by the user using an external PC interface with Sony's "Cell Sorter Software" version 3.1.0.
The Sony MA900 has 4 excitation lasers (488 nm, 638 nm, 405 nm, and 561 nm) that allow for 12 fluorescence selection parameters and 4 way sorting. The instrument is housed in a sterile laminar flow hood to maintain sample sterility.
